Princess Sasha

Our Elkhound "puppy", Sasha, deserves a blog entry all her own.

She is the most stubborn dog that ever walked and most of the time she is teetering between being the cutest dog on the planet and one that needs a new home because we have had enough. We rescued her from the pound - in Denver - where she had been left in the "no questions asked" overnight drop off. Clint always wanted a dog of her specific breed and we could never find one. It is the funniest thing because it is Clint and Sasha who butt heads the most and yet he was the one who did the research and knew that the breed is known for being headstrong and obstinate. She (and us!) will be embarking on obedience training in the next couple of months to see if we can cure some of her more troublesome habits - like chewing on everything in the yard!

When we go camping she has to wear a reflective vest - poor dog - because from far away she looks like a coyote and we don't want her to get shot at when she decides she wants to take off for an hour or more to hunt down an elk... don't laugh, it happened once!

The most endearing thing about Sasha is how she always crosses her legs like a lady when she lays down. She is truly a princess who is constantly trying to rule our roost!
We love you, Sasha!
